FAQ
Reservations
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Yes. A 2-night minimum stay applies on weekends, holidays, and during local events.
How much is the deposit, and when is it charged?
Reservations require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is automatically charged to the credit card on file on your day of arrival, with a receipt emailed to you. Prefer to use a different card? Just let us know and we'll update your file.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before arrival have two options: a refund of your deposit minus a $50 cancellation fee, or a gift certificate for the full deposit amount (valid for 1 year from issuance). Cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival forfeit the full deposit unless the room can be rebooked.
Can I use a gift certificate for my reservation?
Gift certificates can't currently be applied through the online booking system. Please call us directly at 209-728-2897 and mention your gift certificate when booking.
Your Stay
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. If you'd like to arrive earlier, let us know 24 hours in advance and we'll do our best to have your room ready as early as 1:00 p.m. If you're arriving after 7:00 p.m., please advise us in advance so we can walk you through our late check-in process.
Where should I park?
Private parking is provided for all guests. Please park along the front of the house near the picket fence in the designated spaces; additional parking is available in the gravel "Employee Parking" area if needed. We ask that you keep the space in front of the Electric Vehicle Charging Station open for guests who may need it.

Can children stay at Dunbar House Inn and Event Property?
Dunbar House Inn and Event Property is an intimate, romantic retreat intended for adults. Children are welcome to attend events hosted at Dunbar House Inn and Event Property, but for overnight stays, we recommend Opi's Room at The Victoria Inn or one of our V Vacation Rentals properties, both of which can accommodate families.
Is there a quiet time?
Yes, quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. We ask that all guests be respectful of our neighbors and community during this time.
House Rules
Is smoking allowed?
No, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, including guest rooms, balconies, and porches. A $250 cleaning fee applies if smoking occurs in these areas.
Are pets allowed?
Dunbar House Inn and Event Property is not a dog-friendly property. Our sister properties, The Victoria Inn and V Vacation Rentals, offer dog-friendly accommodations. If a non-service animal is brought onto the Dunbar House property, a $300 professional cleaning fee will be charged to the credit card on file.
What is your service animal policy?
We ask that guests only identify a dog as a service animal if it meets the ADA definition: a dog individually trained to perform tasks directly related to a person's disability. Comfort or companion animals do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. We may ask (1) whether the dog is required because of a disability, and (2) what task it's trained to perform.
What happens if something is damaged during my stay?
Any damage to the property — including guest rooms, fixtures, furnishings, artwork, décor, or linens — will result in a fee for repair, replacement, or necessary cleaning, charged to the credit card on file.
