Concours d’Elegance: Saturday, September 28, 2019, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you have a love for classic cars and good wine, head on over to the 23rd Annual Concours d’Elegance at Ironstone Vineyards on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
Over 300 antique and classic car owners participate, including vintage trailers, house cars, trucks, motorcycles, racecars, and even classic wooden boats. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event ends at 4:30 p.m.
Although it’s a great place for antique and classic car enthusiasts, the Concours d’Elegance is actually a fundraiser to support youth agricultural programs. Their motto is, “Driven to Support Youth in Agriculture.” Over the years, the Concours d’ Elegance has raised funds for programs like FFA, 4-H, Guide Dog Programs, and Horse Classic.
So not only will you get to see a great collection of stunning, restored and fully functional classic cars, some of which are over 100 years old, your money goes to a good cause, too.

Calaveras Grape Stomp, Harvest Festival and Gold Rush Street Faire. Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you’re staying at the Dunbar House Inn and Event Property the weekend of October 4-6, 2019, the 26th Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp Harvest Festival and Gold Rush Street Faire either is or should be the top things to do on your agenda. It’s held right at Murphys Community Park and on Murphys’ Main Street on Saturday, October 5, 2019, so it’s pretty much an all-day town-wide festival that attracts an estimated 5,000 oenophiles to our beautiful little Sierra Foothills wine country town.
Teams gather from all over the state to compete in the Grape Stomp competition. Dressed up in themed, funky costumes, the teams have two positions: the stomper and the swabber. Whoever crushes the most grapes to get the most grape juice wins.
The Gold Rush Street Faire, which runs simultaneously with the Grape Stomp competition, is from 9:00-5:00 and admission is free. Local wines, BBQ and wood-fire pizza will be sold at the park along with food booths and beer booths at the street fair. Live music, photo booth fun, kids activities and more! Be sure to also sample the local wine (bottled, not stomped) and dance to the abundance of live music playing throughout the day.
New silent auction items have been added to the lineup this year including a trip to Honolulu, outdoor adventure packages and winery experiences. This annual fundraising event provides scholarships to high school students, benefits Feeney Park, the Wine Information Center and other community organizations.

Mark Twain Wild West Fest in Angels Camp: Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Get the true Gold Rush experience in the Gold Country at the Mark Twain Wild West Fest in downtown Angels Camp on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The Mark Twain Wild West Fest celebrates Angels Camp’s historical connection to American author Mark Twain and California’s Gold Rush. A prominent area during that time, downtown Angels Camp’s architecture still rings true to that era with original buildings lining the streets.
With 3 stages of non-stop music, comedy, and entertainment, this is not an event you want to miss. From roving street performers to gun-slinging cowboys, outlaws, and shoot-out reenactments, plus honky-tonk piano players and saloon girls, it’s a rootin’ tootin’ good time. There’s also plenty of booths and Main Street shops to scope out some awesome souvenirs.
You can even enter a drawing to win a genuine golden nugget. Now how’s that for a souvenir? (Taking into account you’re the lucky winner).
Plus, Angels Camp is just a short drive from Murphys, so you won’t have to travel far to check out this Gold Country affair. And, just so you know, Wild West period attire and costumes are strongly encouraged.
