At the end of June, the Dunbar House Inn & Event Property had the honor of hosting its first ever LGBTQ wedding ceremony since new management took over. It was a very exciting time for us to open our doors to a community that needs welcoming places to say, “I do.” We’re continually striving to make our quaint little town of Murphys, California that inclusive, caring and compassionate place for any LGBTQ couple looking to get married.
The Dunbar House Inn & Event Property is all about charm and tradition, and we’re creating many new traditions which will exponentially improve the charm. Here are 4 reasons why you should host your LGBTQ wedding right here in Murphys.
#1) Murphys welcomes you
Here at the Dunbar House Inn & Event Property, you’ll be treated like any other couple who books us for their wedding venue: unwavering respect and warm hospitality. You’re our guest, no matter your sexual orientation, and that will never change. Moreover, you’re our friends, brothers, sisters, and relatives. Whether you’re straight, gay, or any other color of the LGBTQ Rainbow, we have a room for you.
#2) What’s so funny about peace, love and understanding?
Murphys is a small town with a big heart, and we accept every color of love in the rainbow. It was one of the first towns of the Sierra Nevada foothills to host a Pride in the Park, hosted by the Tri County LGBT Alliance, (You might want to sign up for their mailing list) and Murphys continues to strive to be a welcoming community for those who are LGBTQ. The Murphys community is very supportive of the LGBTQ community, so you needn’t worry about getting someone to rally behind you as you plan the most special day of your life with your partner.
#3) We provide excellent wedding planning services
Your wedding should be just as special as anyone else’s. Besides, marrying as an LGBTQ couple is hard enough as it is, and it doesn’t have to be. Let the Dunbar House Inn & Event Property provide the majority of the services and items for your wedding or meeting. Our Inclusive Venue Rental option provides the majority of the foundational components needed, so you can concentrate on the more important aspects of creating a memorable occasion.
We’ll provide the chairs, tables, place settings, flatware, catering from our own restaurants; the best top-shelf mixed drink, beer, and wine offerings from our own fully staffed beverage services; wine, beer and champagne alcohol permits, and set-up and break down. Already have your own wedding planner and caterer? No problem! We’re flexible. We’re just happy that you chose the Dunbar House Inn & Event Property as the venue to tie the knot!
#4) Murphys is a great place to get married
